Every two weeks, Tim and Chris will discuss the biggest issues in the world of sport, from doping in athletics, via concussion in the NFL to salary caps in soccer.
Dugout Debate was founded in September 2017 by Tim Husselbury and Chris Kerr after noticing that the biggest issues in sport, are often visited from just one point of view. We aim to change that.
Thoroughly researched by two sporting fanatics with backgrounds in Sport Science and Sports Journalism, we will carefully critique sport’s major talking points. This will allow us to give you all sides of the argument, questioning common misconceptions, whilst providing unique and fascinating insights into the nuances of the sports we love.
Here’s a quick intro to the Podders….
Tim, a University of Birmingham graduate in Sport and Exercise Science, is close to completing an MSc by Research in Motor Neuroscience. He is no stranger to critically assessing scientific literature, so he believes that should be no different in sport’s media. An all-round sportsman, you’d do well to find him away from the sports pitch – whether that’s playing it, watching it, reading it, or pumping significant numbers of hours into the Football Manager series.
From the moment Chris could talk, he was talking about sports. If there’s any sport you want to have a chat about, Chris is your guy. He has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of all the sports he follows: football, rugby union, tennis, american football, cricket, rugby league, athletics….and the list goes on.
A History and Geography Graduate from Loughborough University, Chris currently works as a Communications Executive for a major UK rugby union team. In a glittering University career he held a number sports journalism roles, including: Sports Editor for The Epinal student newspaper (part of The Tab group), Sports media writer for the Loughborough University Sport website and official media reporter for Loughborough Students RFC.
It’s a wonder how he manages to do anything else with his time!
